While many of us celebrate Israel, it is also clear that what is now taking place requires us to take a stand, a position, because the threat to a democracy in Israel is seemingly under threat. The outpouring of so many to challenge judicial change is coming from many segments of Israeli society I am fond of, and that, as an American Jew, makes me question the future of Israel. Where is it going if Bibi has his way? Why is he and his position being challenged? A house divided etc as Lincoln proclaimed can not stand. And Israel?

As a bright and cheerful overly optimistic Jew I look at history and imagine that one day Israel will be destroyed. 10 years from now. A hundred years from now. At Anytime Before the Messianic age or Ms/they/He/us/one big hell of a mass of multiplying identifications/ what every form a Messiah takes— that the more Jews in more places around the world (yes Reconstructionist congregation Guangzhou) the more possibility for Judaism to survive.

No. Perfectly serious.

Do not congregate in the homeland to the extent that Jews do not live in large communities elsewhere.
