I loved this but my two cents: avoid the Kabbalat Center. It's a pyramid scheme to sell trinkets. Fun fact: the name Chabad is an acronym of the top three sefirot -- Kabbalistic emanations. In any event, this was a lot of fun to read and I'll try to curb my jealousy of your globe trotting ways. Shabbat Shalom!

My grandmother used to use Copenhagen snuff and I grew up having Danish with my coffee so I can identify with yur travels. Very nice. Thanks.

“He didn’t murder me” had me cackling! What a cool experience to meet so many interesting people.

This is my first encounter with your blog and I appreciate your sense of discovery and your efforts to "observe Shabbat in some way." I am trying to do the same. Likewise, your comment "Judaism to me is all about progress and finding what works for you" resonated with me as I am very much on that path with an increased urgency over the past three months. Shabbat Shalom!

I always look away to reading your blog and share it with many people. Coincidentally, friends of mine is to do competitive a cappella, singing in DC. I’ll bet they know each other! And I must say, I agree with the rabbi to enjoy Shabbat fully, and really rest your mind body occasionally and stop running! Shabbat shalom from Delta flight 646 en route to Mexico City! 😉
